About Otter.ai

Otter.ai is an AI meeting assistant. It joins Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet to write and share notes automatically, with live transcription, speaker identification, summaries, outlines and action items. You can also record in the app and import audio and video files.

Otter's AI chat answers questions within one meeting or across all of them, and AI meeting workflows let you set up repeatable outputs such as follow ups. The company announced AI meeting agents in October 2025. Business plans add custom workflows and admin analytics, and the Enterprise plan adds the Otter Sales Notetaker, single sign-on, API and webhooks, and chat across Gmail, Google Drive, Notion and Jira.

There is a free Basic plan with a monthly transcription allowance, and iOS and Android apps. Transcription covers English, Spanish, French, German, Japanese and Chinese. HIPAA compliance is an add-on for Enterprise.

Our take

Good for
automatic meeting notes and transcripts for calls on Zoom, Google Meet and Microsoft Teams.
Skip it if
you need long meetings or a lot of recorded hours on the free plan.
The catch
the free plan caps both the monthly minutes and the length of each conversation, and published details for paid plans vary, so match the plan to how many hours you actually meet.

Checked . Plans and limits change, so confirm them on the vendor's site before you buy.
