About Adobe Firefly

Adobe Firefly is Adobe's generative AI studio for images, video and audio. You can generate from text, extend or fill parts of an image, remove backgrounds, upscale, and plan ideas on Firefly Boards, a shared canvas for moodboards and concepts.

Firefly runs Adobe's own models, which Adobe says are trained on licensed Adobe Stock and public domain content, and also offers partner models from companies such as Google, OpenAI, Runway, ElevenLabs and Kling in the same workspace. Paid plans include commercial use and attach Content Credentials to generated work.

It is available on the web and on iOS and Android, and works with Photoshop, Adobe Express and the rest of Creative Cloud. Developers can reach image features through the Firefly API. A free plan gives a limited number of daily generations, and paid plans add monthly credits at several levels up to a high-volume tier for video.

Our take

Good for
generating images, video and audio, including inside Adobe apps, from material Adobe says it licensed or that is public domain.
Skip it if
you want the video and premium models without watching a credit allowance.
The catch
video, audio and partner models draw on a monthly allowance that does not roll over, and cover against IP claims depends on your plan, so ask Adobe in writing.

Checked . Plans and limits change, so confirm them on the vendor's site before you buy.
