About Cohere
Cohere is an enterprise AI company. Its models include Command for text generation, Embed for semantic search, Rerank for improving search results, and newer models for speech recognition, machine translation and document parsing, plus the multilingual Aya research models. Cohere Labs is its research lab.
North is Cohere's agentic AI platform for businesses. Teams deploy agents that draw on organisational knowledge and use tools, skills and memory, with built-in connectors and APIs, a zero-trust security approach and audit visibility. Compass adds intelligent search and discovery across company data. Both can run in a customer's own cloud account or on-premises, or through Cohere's Model Vault managed inference platform.
Developers can start with a free trial API key, which is rate limited and not for production use. Production API use is billed by the amount processed, Model Vault is billed by the hour or month for dedicated capacity, and North and Compass are priced through sales. Sectors named on the site include financial services, the public sector and telecommunications.
