About Perplexity AI
Perplexity is an answer engine. You ask a question and it replies with an answer that carries inline citations to its sources, so you can check each claim. It offers deep research for larger questions and, on paid plans, Perplexity Computer, which can create documents, apps and other tools from a request.
Pro and Max users can select between models from OpenAI, Google, Anthropic, Moonshot AI, Z.ai and xAI, and Perplexity also matches a suitable model to each task. The Free plan covers everyday questions. Pro adds expanded access to Computer, deep research and higher limits, and Max adds the highest usage limits, expert-level research and early access to new features. Pro and Max are for personal use, and an Enterprise plan is sold separately for organisations.
