About Zapier
Zapier is a no-code automation platform. You build Zaps, which are workflows that move data between apps and run steps when something happens, using a visual editor and an assistant called Copilot to help build them. It connects to more than 9,000 apps, including Gmail, Slack, Google Sheets, HubSpot and Salesforce.
Zapier now describes itself as an AI orchestration platform. Zap workflows can include AI steps and branching logic, Tables store structured data, Forms collect input, and Zapier MCP and the Zapier SDK let AI agents take actions in connected apps. Zapier Agents are AI teammates that can be given company knowledge and carry out work on request or automatically.
Plans are based on a monthly allowance of tasks, and AI steps, code, MCP and the SDK draw from the same task pool. The free plan covers simple two step Zaps. Paid plans add multi step Zaps, premium apps, webhooks and AI fields, the team plan adds shared Zaps and single sign-on, and Enterprise adds unlimited users, observability and a technical account manager.
Our take
- Good for
- connecting the apps you already use with automations you set up without code.
- Skip it if
- you want complex multi-step automations on the free plan.
- The catch
- you are billed by tasks and every successful action step counts, so a long automation that runs often can use up your allowance quickly.
