About ChatGPT

ChatGPT is OpenAI's AI assistant. You can chat by text or voice on the web, on desktop and on iOS and Android, upload files and images, ask for deep research, create images and keep a memory of your preferences. Paid plans add projects, scheduled tasks and custom GPTs, and give more access to Codex, a coding tool, and ChatGPT Work, which handles longer tasks on desktop, web and mobile.

There is a free plan. As at October 2026 the Free plan uses GPT-5.6 Luna for text chat and the Plus plan adds GPT-6 reasoning models. Go is a lower-cost step up with more messages, uploads and image creation, and it may include ads. Pro adds three usage tiers, maximum deep research and an always-on agent called Dot.

Business and Enterprise plans add single sign-on, admin controls and compliance features, and ChatGPT's pricing page lists data residency options that include Australia for its business and enterprise offering. On individual plans your content can be used to train models unless you opt out.
