About Cursor

Cursor is a code editor built around AI. You describe a change in plain language and an agent works through the project, edits files and shows you what it did so you can review it. It also offers tab completion and inline edits that use the context of your codebase, and agents can run locally or in the cloud, including several at once.

You can choose between models from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google and xAI, or use Cursor's own Composer models. Cursor works as a desktop editor, a command-line tool, in the browser and on mobile, and it connects to GitHub for pull request review and to Slack.

Cursor is made by Anysphere, which became part of SpaceX when the acquisition closed on 14 August 2026. The Hobby plan is free, and paid plans are available for individuals, teams and enterprises.

Our take

Good for
developers who want an AI code editor with agents that write, review and fix code.
Skip it if
you want one fixed monthly bill while using the premium models.
The catch
use of manually chosen premium models draws from a monthly pool and extra use can be billed on top, and sources describe the limits differently, so check the current plan.

Checked . Plans and limits change, so confirm them on the vendor's site before you buy.
