About Kimi
Kimi is an AI assistant made by Moonshot AI and powered by its K3 model, which Kimi describes as built for agentic coding and knowledge work. You can chat, run Deep Research, and hand tasks to agents that work with documents, spreadsheets and slides, build and publish websites with database support, and run scheduled tasks that push results to you. Projects, plugins and an inspiration library sit alongside the chat.
Plans are measured in agent credits. Plus is the entry plan, and Pro, Max and Ultra offer 2, 5 and 10 times its agent credits. Pro and above add Goal mode, in which agents work on their own until a task is complete, and a one-click Kimi Claw deployment. Max and Ultra add context of up to one million tokens. Swarm lets multiple agents work together, Kimi Code is available as a research preview, and plugins connect to professional financial and economic databases.
Kimi's membership page notes that a new membership plan is available and that purchase eligibility can vary, so check the page for current plans and annual pricing. A free plan was not shown on the pricing page.
Our take
- Good for
- long-document research and agent tasks, from a Chinese AI company that also releases open models.
- Skip it if
- you have strict rules about where your data can be processed.
- The catch
- Moonshot AI is based in China, third parties summarise its privacy terms, and plans change often, so read its own policy before using it for work.
Checked . Plans and limits change, so confirm them on the vendor's site before you buy.
